AMES, Iowa — Northridge Village, a continuing care retirement community in Ames, was recently ranked as one of the top retirement communities in Iowa, according to the U.S. News & World Report. With its new “Nursing Home Finder,” the news outlet evaluated more than 15,000 retirement communities nationwide and deemed 2,000 of them the designation of a U.S. News “Best Nursing Home.”
Only 68 retirement communities in Iowa earned the Best Nursing Home rating. U.S. News states that retirement community performance was evaluated over time by averaging monthly data over a year; much emphasis was placed on strong performance in medical quality measures. To receive a “Top Performing” U.S. News rating, communities had to provide significantly more than the required minimum of rehabilitation therapy services.
“We are honored to be ranked as one of the top retirement communities in Iowa and in the U.S.,” says Northridge Village’s Executive Director, Gregg Hanson. He also said, “I would like to thank our staff for all their hard work in upholding our high standards of care for our residents.”
Northridge Village would also like to congratulate its sister community, Prairie Vista Village in Altoona, for also making the list.
